We are looking for a Business Unit Controller to join our Intermediates team in Houston, TX

In this role, you will serve as the primary finance business partner to the Chemical Intermediates leadership team, ensuring transparent financial performance management, delivering forward-looking insights, and supporting strategic and operational decision-making across the business unit. You will play a key role in driving profitability, cost discipline, and value creation in a dynamic, global environment.

As a Business Unit Controller, you create chemistry by...

• Acting as a trusted financial partner to Business Directors, Product Management, and regional leadership, providing clear visibility into financial performance.
• Delivering insights on profitability, cost drivers, and financial risks/opportunities, including variance analysis versus plan, forecast, and prior year.
• Leading the annual planning and forecasting processes and ensuring high-quality, timely financial reporting aligned with global standards.
• Monitoring and analyzing cost structures, margins, and profitability across product lines, regions, and customer segments.
• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of 4 direct reports, driving engagement, capability development, and strong performance outcomes.
• Supporting pricing, portfolio, and volume decisions through robust financial analysis and recommendations.
• Ensuring compliance with corporate controlling guidelines, accounting policies, and internal control requirements.
• Supporting capital investments, business cases, and strategic initiatives, including restructuring and portfolio optimization efforts.
• Driving continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and analytics, including the use of digital tools, BI solutions, and AI.

If you have...

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics required; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in controlling, finance, or accounting, preferably in a chemical, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Experience managing culturally diverse teams (Strongly Preferred).
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, cost accounting, profitability analysis, and financial steering.
• Experience working in a matrixed, international organization.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• High business acumen and strong stakeholder management capabilities.
• A proactive, independent working style with a continuous improvement mindset.
• High affinity for digital tools, BI systems, and standardized finance processes.
