Title: Business Office Assistant, Central Administrative Office Part-Time: Up to 20 hours/week *Benefits Eligible Schedule: Monday & Friday (8:30-3:30pm) Wednesday (8:30-2:30pm)
Position Summary The Business Office Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Business Office and assists with the efficient and accurate processing of financial, payroll, purchasing, and general business office functions. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively with employees, vendors, families, and other members of the school community.
Qualifications Possession of an Associate's Degree or higher. Preferably at least two or more years working in an educational setting, accounting, bookkeeping or payroll office. Strong aptitude for figures and basic accounting practices with expertise in spreadsheet and word processing software. Proficient computer skills. Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Confidentiality and professionalism is essential. Ability to learn and effectively use district financial, payroll, and other administrative software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide administrative and clerical support to the Business Office. Process purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, receipts, and other financial documents in accordance with district procedures. Maintain confidentiality of employee, financial, and other sensitive district information. Opportunity to gain comprehensive expertise in public sector operations, building highly marketable skills in municipal finance, and public records management. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Business Office Specialist, Business Consultant or designee.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of general office procedures and financial recordkeeping practices. Ability to accurately enter and maintain financial and employee information. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet established deadlines. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with employees, vendors, and the public. Familiarity with MUNIS and/or Harpers Payroll System is highly desirable. Proficiency in the areas of Accounts Payable/Receivable/Payroll/Procurement is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties generally require the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, use a computer and telephone, and occasionally lift or move office materials and supplies.
Work Environment Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment within a school or district administrative setting. The position requires frequent interaction with district employees, administrators, vendors, and members of the public.
Evaluation The Business Office Specialist, in conjunction with the Business Consultant, will evaluate annually based on goals established at the start of each school year.
Salary Clerical Salary Grid: Step 1 $20.77 - Step 7 $24.06, commensurate with experience.
