Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is recruiting a Business Immigration Paralegal in Washington, D.C. The role supports attorneys and non-attorney timekeepers by preparing complex legal documents, conducting mid-level legal research, and handling other tasks related to the immigration practice. It also provides leadership in supporting firm, office, and team initiatives.Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesPrepare and finalize petitions and applications with minimal supervision, including:H-1B, L-, E-2/3, TN, O-1, and dependent applications (NIV)EB-2, EB-3, NIW, and family-based applications (IV)PERM applicationsActively participate in case intake and strategy, conduct research on SOC classifications, and use private wage surveys.Maintain timely communications with client contacts via email, phone, and video calls.Monitor expiration reports and initiate renewal processes.Balance workload across multiple attorneys with guidance from practice advisors.Execute special projects as assigned.QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. Paralegal certificate or NACPA certification highly desirable.Experience: Minimum three years as a paralegal, at least two years in business immigration filings (PERM, O-, EB-).Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Rules; proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology; ability to gather documents from online resources.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to train other paralegals, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain a professional image.Physical requirements: visual acuity for transcription, ability to sit/stand, lift up to 10 lb, and work overtime or travel on short notice as required.Other: Reasonable accommodation may be provided to meet essential job functions.Salary & BenefitsThe expected salary range in Washington, D.C. is $88,100 to $120,100. Compensation varies by location and experience.
