The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive pipeline growth by identifying, developing, and qualifying new business opportunities in commercial and high-value residential markets.

In this role, you’ll own the top of the funnel—building relationships, sourcing qualified leads, and setting up enterprise opportunities for our Account Executives to close.

Territory Overview

  • Primary Market: Greater Tucson metropolitan area.
  • Base of Operations: Tucson office.
  • Coverage Area: ~50-miles around Tucson.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting
    • Identify and target high-potential commercial and premium residential clients.
    • Execute strategies across direct contact, networking, and referrals.
    • Qualify prospects and schedule meetings for Account Executives.
    • Maintain accurate data in CRM and sales tracking systems.
  • Sales Pipeline Development
    • Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
    • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to align outreach and closing strategies.
    • Monitor pipeline movement to ensure consistent opportunity flow.
  • Strategic Relationship Building
    • Develop relationships with property owners, managers, contractors, and referral partners.
    • Represent Occidental Roofing professionally in networking events, trade shows, and industry functions.
  • Market Intelligence
    • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and market insights.
    • Share market feedback to help refine outreach and sales strategies.
  • Collaboration & Reporting
    • Work closely with operations and sales teams to ensure seamless lead and project handoffs.
    • Provide regular pipeline updates and activity reports to sales leadership.

Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

OR

  • 5+ years of sales or direct marketing experience.
  • 3+ years in enterprise sales or business development.
  • Proven success generating qualified leads and building pipelines.
  • Proven track record of closing high-ticket deals and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tech tools.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • A startup mindset: high energy, adaptability, ownership mentality.

Preferred

  • Experience in roofing, construction, or home improvement.
  • Bilingual (Spanish a plus).
  • Knowledge of the Tucson and Southern Arizona market.
