Business Development Manager

About the Role The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing new customer relationships and expanding opportunities with existing customers. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, strengthening Vermillion's presence across key programs and platforms, and increasing overall profitability. In this position, you will evaluate market conditions, develop sales strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals, and work to improve Vermillion's market position. The role requires active prospecting, strategic relationship-building, and managing opportunities from initial contact through closing. Key responsibilities include monitoring major programs for company products and services, following up on customer Requests for Quote (RFQs), forecasting and closing sales opportunities, and maintaining accurate progress updates in the company's CRM system. You will regularly travel to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and collaborate with manufacturing representatives to promote Vermillion's capabilities. You will also participate in internal sales meetings, maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, and report monthly sales progress at the board level. You are comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and representing your organization in front of customers and industry partners. You bring strong communication and presentation skills, an analytical approach to sales strategy, and the ability to develop lasting relationships with customers and internal teams.
