If you have a background in healthcare sales, home health marketing, hospice liaison work, senior living sales, or medical sales, and you love being out in the community building meaningful partnerships - this role was made for you.The Business Development Manager position is a field-based, outside sales role with a defined territory covering Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Marion, Hiawatha, Coralville, North Liberty, and surrounding Linn and Johnson County communities.Why This Role Stands OutCompetitive base salary of $65,000–$75,000 DOEWeekly commission paid on new business generatedOn-target earnings of $75,000–$90,000+ for strong performers - no cap on commissionGenerous PTOHealth insurance coverageMileage reimbursementIndustry-leading sales training + dedicated business development coachSupportive ownership with the freedom to build your territory your wayA mission-driven role - your work directly improves the lives of seniors and their families every dayWhat You'll DoAs BrightStar Care's Business Development Manager, you will own the growth strategy for the Cedar Rapids / Iowa City market:Build and grow a referral network with hospitals, discharge planners, hospital social workers, case managers, physicians, orthopedic and surgical groups, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living communities, memory care facilities, hospice organizations, and senior services organizationsConduct regular, scheduled face-to-face visits with referral sources to build lasting, trust-based relationshipsPresent BrightStar Care's private duty home care and skilled nursing services to healthcare professionals and community partnersPlan and host Lunch & Learns, community education events, and health fairs to increase brand visibilityProspect and generate new business through cold outreach, warm networking, community events, phone, email, and LinkedInRepresent BrightStar Care at local senior care coalitions, chamber of commerce events, and networking groupsMaintain and grow relationships with existing referral partners - identify new opportunities within established accountsCollaborate with the Branch Manager, Staffing Coordinator, and clinical team to ensure a seamless client intake experienceTrack all activity, referral sources, and pipeline in CRM softwareMeet and exceed monthly and quarterly census growth, referral volume, and revenue goalsWhat We're Looking ForRequired:2+ years of outside sales, business development, or referral marketing experienceProven track record of building referral relationships and hitting growth targetsExceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsSelf-motivated and results-driven - comfortable managing your own schedule and territoryStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM softwareReliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insuranceStrongly Preferred:Experience in home care, home health, hospice, senior living, medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare salesExisting relationships in the Cedar Rapids / Iowa City healthcare communityFamiliarity with the senior care continuum and discharge planning processBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related fieldAbout BrightStar CareBrightStar Care of Cedar Rapids / Iowa City is a Joint Commission-accredited, nurse-led home care agency serving Linn County, Johnson County, and surrounding Eastern Iowa communities.
