Business Development Manager, Electronics Contract Manufacturing

Open doors at aerospace and defense primes and OEMs nationwide for a proven electronics contract manufacturer whose shop sells itself once customers walk through it. Senior seller seat, no activity quotas, judged on results.

Base $100K to $150K OTE $250K to $300K at target Commission on Revenue You Win National Territory, DFW Based

The Opportunity

Precision Sales Recruiting is hiring a Business Development Manager for an established electronics contract manufacturer in Garland, Texas. Our client builds printed circuit board and circuit card assemblies for aerospace and defense, medical, industrial, and commercial customers, from prototype through production under one roof. This seat owns new customer acquisition across the United States, with a strong focus on Texas and the aerospace and defense primes.

The shop runs on new equipment built to the requirements of a major defense prime and carries a perfect quality scorecard record on major defense programs. The job is getting the right engineering and procurement leaders through the front door. Select house accounts and inbound leads are handed over at the start, so the hire is not building from zero.

This is a senior, consultative sales motion measured by customer milestones: an NDA so the customer shares data, a shop tour, a quality agreement and contract review, an RFQ, and a purchase order. It is a natural fit for sellers already working in the Dallas Fort Worth electronics manufacturing community who want a platform built to win defense programs.

Why This Role

Earnings

Base of $100K to $150K Plus Commission

Commission is paid on revenue from the accounts you win, with a reduced rate on house accounts and leads handed over. On-target earnings for a fully ramped seller are estimated at $250K to $300K at target.

Product Position

A Shop That Sells Itself

New equipment, prototype through production in one building, and a perfect quality scorecard record on major defense programs. Once a customer tours the floor, the capability does the talking.

Autonomy

No Activity Quotas

There are no call or email quotas. You run your own week, in the office, on the road, or working from home as the pursuit requires, and you are judged on results.

Head Start

House Accounts and Inbound Leads

Select house accounts and inbound leads are handed over to help you start. You build on existing activity while you open new doors with primes and OEMs.

Support

Experienced Program Management Team

Onboarding focuses on the shop''s capabilities, not sales training. You partner with program management on quotes, customer visits, and launching new programs into production.

Market Timing

Primes Need Suppliers Who Deliver

Aerospace and defense primes are actively looking for contract manufacturers they can trust. You bring them a qualified, high-quality option with real capacity.

What You Will Do

  • Open doors with engineering and procurement leaders at aerospace and defense primes and OEMs nationwide
  • Move customers from NDA to shop visit, quality agreement, contract review, RFQ, and purchase order
  • Focus effort on the accounts that matter most, including large, multi-month pursuits
  • Take over and grow select house accounts and inbound leads
  • Partner with the program management team on quotes, customer visits, and new program launches
  • Represent the company at customer sites, prime supplier events, and trade shows

Who We Are Looking For

This role is built for a senior seller who already speaks the language of electronics contract manufacturing and does not need to be taught how to sell.

Required

  • Five or more years in a sales role in electronics contract manufacturing or its supply chain
  • Background in EMS or contract manufacturing, PCB fabrication, component manufacturing, component distribution, or the supply chain that serves contract manufacturers
  • Fluency in printed circuit boards, circuit card assembly, components and long-lead items, fab versus assembly, and prototype versus production
  • Proven business development results: getting decision makers at primes and OEMs to engage, share data, and visit
  • Live in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, or be willing to relocate, close enough to Garland for office time and customer site tours

Strongly Preferred

  • Current or prior sales experience with an electronics contract manufacturer in the Dallas Fort Worth area
  • Prior experience at an aerospace and defense prime or a large electronics OEM
  • Existing relationships with aerospace and defense primes
  • An established book of business or network of buyers
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality requirements such as AS9100, IPC J-STD Class 3, and ITAR

Backgrounds That Transfer Well

  • Sellers of SMT equipment, solder paste, or other materials into contract manufacturers
  • Electronic component distribution and manufacturer sales representatives
  • PCB fabrication sales professionals
  • Sellers with medical, industrial, or commercial OEM relationships alongside defense

If you have sold inside the electronics contract manufacturing world or directly alongside it, your relationships and vocabulary transfer directly to this role.
