Business Analyst, Strategic Sourcing

JOB SUMMARY

The Business Analyst, Strategic Sourcing provides analytical, reporting, and project coordination support that enables the Strategic Sourcing team to make informed purchasing decisions and conduct effective supplier negotiations. This individual contributor develops reporting and presentations for department and executive leadership, supports competitive sourcing processes through documentation and supplier evaluation tools, and applies artificial intelligence tools to improve sourcing workflows. The role supports contract documentation, vendor and market research, and negotiations while serving as the process owner for IT purchase orders. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, this role works closely with sourcing category leads and cross-functional stakeholders to support efficient, accurate, and consistent sourcing processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and maintain department reporting, dashboards, and scorecards to track sourcing activity, spend, savings, and other relevant business metrics.
• Coordinate input from stakeholders and develop clear, polished presentations that communicate sourcing insights and recommendations to department and executive leadership.
• Support requests for proposal, information, and quotation processes by preparing sourcing documentation, evaluation models, and supplier scorecards.
• Identify and apply artificial intelligence and productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot and Claude, to streamline sourcing workflows and improve team efficiency.
• Gather and organize contract documentation, maintain negotiation workbooks, and conduct vendor and market research to support sourcing decisions.
• Lead negotiations for smaller-dollar agreements and provide analytical and documentation support for larger supplier negotiations as directed by the Director of Strategic Sourcing.
• Serve as the process owner for IT purchase orders, helping ensure requests are accurate, appropriately approved, and processed in a timely manner.
• Maintain sourcing process documentation and identify opportunities to improve the consistency and efficiency of team workflows.

QUALIFICATIONS

Employment Experience

• 1 to 3 years of experience in business analysis, strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, finance, or a related field.
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams; exposure to strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, or related purchasing processes is preferred.
• This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to develop analytical reporting and business presentations.
• Working knowledge of artificial intelligence tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude, with the ability to apply these tools to business processes and workflows.
• Ability to organize and analyze sourcing, supplier, spend, and related business information.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• No specific professional certification is required.

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is $75,590 - $88,886.
