    Position Summary

    We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join a development team responsible for developing and maintaining a web-based case management system that tracks cases as they move through the court system.


    The Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between end users and Information Services, helping analyze business requirements, support system implementations, coordinate testing, and develop technology solutions that improve business processes.


    The ideal candidate will have experience with business process analysis, application testing and implementation, project coordination, and software development lifecycle methodologies. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and end users are essential.


    The development team utilizes Azure DevOps for work tracking, Git source control, build pipelines, and release management.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Act as a liaison between end users and Information Services staff in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of systems to ensure optimal operational performance
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for end users and lead project and implementation engagements
    • Support the implementation and ongoing support of applications and integration components designed to address court requirements
    • Participate in requirements-gathering sessions
    • Review and help create requirements, specifications, mockups, and technical design documents
    • Evaluate end-user needs and develop configurations and strategies that support business processes
    • Provide instruction and end-user support, including second-level application support
    • Design, develop, test, execute, and assist with application test plans
    • Maintain key project documentation, including dashboards, status reports, and help documentation
    • Communicate clearly and concisely through verbal and written communication across various formats
    • Collaborate with development and Information Services teams to identify opportunities for process and technology improvements


    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Technology, or a related field
    • College coursework combined with at least 5 years of experience in business process analysis, application testing, application implementations and training, project coordination/management, change management, and/or large-group facilitation may be considered
    • 2+ years of experience in business process analysis, application/software testing, or software development required; equivalent experience may be considered
    • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and associated development/testing processes required
    • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or similar development methodologies preferred


    Qualifications & Skills

    • Strong information technology skills
    • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and quality assurance principles
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical teams and end users
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
    • Ability to work successfully in a hybrid remote environment


    Work Schedule

    This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with approximately 1–2 days per week working onsite in Lansing, Michigan and the remainder of the workweek remotely.
