Business Analyst
Location: Lansing, MI — Hybrid, onsite Tuesday/Wednesday required from day one (no remote-only option). Candidates must reside within a 1-hour commute of Lansing at time of submission — no exceptions.

Overview: State of Michigan is engaging a Business Analyst 3 to support an active project team, bridging BA, QA, and DEV workstreams. The resource will own as-is/to-be process documentation and drive agile ceremonies — writing and refining epics, features, and user stories and shepherding them through the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

and MDOS policies, standards, and guidelines.

Requirements
Facilitate creation and refinement of epics, features, and user stories in the team's agile tool of choice; move work through the full project lifecycle (backlog in progress review done); document current-state (as-is) and future-state (to-be) business processes; act as the connective tissue between BA, QA, and DEV roles, translating requirements across each; produce clear, structured process and requirements content for stakeholder review.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years as a Business Analyst; 5+ years working in agile tools (creating and managing epics/features/user stories, moving cards through the lifecycle); 5+ years with a clear understanding of BA, QA, and DEV roles and responsibilities; 5+ years producing as-is/to-be process documentation and content.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with BA tooling such as Figma or Visio; 2+ years of QA experience.
Benefits
$47/hr on a 1099 basis
