Business Analyst II (AI Enablement)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Analyst II (AI Enablement) serves as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, product owners, and emerging technology teams to ensure that business needs are translated into scalable, innovative, and value-driven solutions. This role plays a critical part in supporting digital transformation initiatives, Agile product delivery, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs that enhance operational efficiency, decision support, client experience, and organizational outcomes.

The Business Analyst II partners with business leaders, scrum teams, data analysts, AI engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology innovation. This position is responsible for eliciting, documenting, analyzing, prioritizing, and validating business requirements while supporting the delivery of AI-enabled and data-driven solutions.

Working within Agile frameworks, the Business Analyst II facilitates backlog refinement, user story development, acceptance criteria definition, sprint planning, and stakeholder engagement activities. The role also helps evaluate AI use cases, assess business value, define success measures, and ensure alignment with organizational goals, governance standards, and responsible AI practices.

The Business Analyst II contributes to technology roadmaps, product strategies, and continuous improvement efforts while serving as a trusted advisor to business and technical teams. The individual helps ensure that delivered solutions meet business objectives, comply with enterprise standards, and provide measurable value to stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with business leaders and operational stakeholders to identify business needs, opportunities, risks, and process improvement initiatives.
• Elicit, document, analyze, and validate functional, non-functional, and technical requirements.
• Translate complex business challenges into actionable user stories, process flows, business requirements, and solution recommendations.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, requirements-gathering sessions, and stakeholder reviews.
• Develop current-state and future-state business process documentation.

Agile Product Delivery

• Participate as a key member of Agile delivery teams supporting product development initiatives.
• Create and maintain user stories, epics, features, acceptance criteria, and business process workflows.
• Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning activities.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to prioritize work based on business value and organizational objectives.
• Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), defect triage, and solution validation activities.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Emerging Technology Support

• Partner with business stakeholders, data scientists, AI engineers, and technical teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI and Generative AI opportunities.
• Conduct business analysis activities for AI-driven initiatives, including use case development, requirements definition, workflow redesign, and benefit realization planning.
• Support implementation and adoption of AI-enabled solutions, including conversational AI, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and Generative AI technologies.
• Document AI-related business requirements, success metrics, governance considerations, and operational impacts.
• Collaborate in defining responsible AI practices, data quality requirements, and business controls to support ethical and compliant AI implementation.
• Assist stakeholders in understanding AI capabilities, limitations, risks, and expected business outcomes.

Technology Planning & Solution Delivery

• Support technology strategy development and digital transformation initiatives.
• Conduct gap analyses, impact assessments, root-cause analyses, and feasibility evaluations.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, data teams, and project managers to ensure solution alignment with business objectives.
• Track project outcomes and assist in measuring business value realization and adoption metrics.
• Promote continuous improvement through data-driven insights and process optimization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of Business Analyst experience supporting technology, digital transformation, or enterprise application initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience working within Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or hybrid methodologies.
• Proven ability to gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.
• Experience facilitating collaboration among business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership groups.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience creating business process maps, workflow diagrams, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience supporting software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities, testing, and solution implementation efforts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Agile certification such as:

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)

• Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II)

• PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

• Business analysis certification such as:

• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)

• Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA)

• PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)

• Experience supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, or data-driven initiatives.

• Experience working with enterprise AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure Foundry, EPIC AI, Qualified Health, or similar technologies.

• Healthcare, academic healthcare, or large enterprise experience preferred.

• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI principles, data privacy, risk management, and change management practices.

• Experience supporting cloud-based technologies, analytics platforms, and modern digital solutions.
