Sistema is looking for a Business Analyst with our government client based in Austin, TX for a 1 Year position.
***This hybrid position may require onsite work at our client’s site in Austin, TX, with the option to work up to 80% - 100% remotely. 8 hours per day, which must include the hours between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm Central Time.*** ***Candidates local to Austin or willing to relocate are encouraged to apply. *** The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) position at the Texas Education Agency supports multiple technology initiatives that advance the agency’s mission of improving outcomes for Texas students, with a focus on analysis of systems and data, documentation, and modernization.
This position performs advanced, senior-level business systems analysis work. The Business Systems Analyst serves as a liaison between technical teams and program areas and stakeholders to ensure that complex calculations are accurately captured and validated, and that business needs are translated into system, data, and technical requirements.
The work also entails managing requirements, supporting solution design decisions, validating system behavior, and verifying that all functional, technical, data, and integration requirements are met, including enhancements following implementation. This role requires the use of initiative and independent judgment in planning and carrying out work assignments in accordance with agency standards and DIR guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1 - Elicitation & Analysis - Analyzes user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems. Elicits requirements using joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis.
2 - Requirements Writing & Visual Output
Transforms information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups. Uses standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language.
3 - BA Best Practices & Mentorship
Acts as a mentor to peers and colleagues in disseminating best practices and proactively seeks out training opportunities.
4 - Using TEA Tools Effectively
Uses TEA tools, such as Jira and Modern Requirements, to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status.
