    About the Role:

    As a CBRE Building Engineer / Alarm Monitoring Technician, you will utilize advanced technical skills to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs on building systems, equipment, and critical facility infrastructure while also monitoring and operating supervisory control systems. Working with limited supervision, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility assets by responding to alarms, monitoring system performance, coordinating incident response, and supporting day-to-day building operations. This role requires a combination of hands-on maintenance expertise and real-time monitoring capabilities across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, life safety, and other critical building systems to maintain operational excellence and minimize downtime.

    What You'll Do:

    • Comply with all safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures while communicating effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and support facility performance.
    • Maintain energy management and building efficiency programs while supporting lighting, carpentry, welding, locksmith, and other general building maintenance functions as required.
    • Support asset management and reliability programs by monitoring device connectivity, maintaining preventive maintenance schedules, managing configuration changes, and ensuring firmware and system updates are completed.
    • Oversee and inspect work performed by contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.
    • Review work orders, estimate labor and material requirements, and coordinate procurement of parts and supplies needed to complete maintenance activities.
    • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on building equipment and infrastructure while maintaining accurate maintenance records.
    • Respond to system alarms, emergencies, and equipment issues by performing diagnostics, corrective actions, and on-site troubleshooting to minimize downtime and after-hours escalations.
    • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, life safety, and critical facility monitoring platforms to ensure safe and reliable operations.

    What You'll Need:

    • Valid driver's license (if required), ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, walking, standing, and responding to facility emergencies.
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
    • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance or monitoring systems; strong organizational and documentation skills.
    • Ability to interpret work instructions, technical documents, procedures, and maintenance records while effectively communicating with clients and team members.
    • Industry certifications preferred, including Universal CFC certification and/or applicable state or local trade licenses.
    • Technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, process controls, carpentry, or related building trades.
    • Experience performing building operations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of critical facility systems and equipment.
    • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school certification with relevant facilities, engineering, maintenance, or monitoring experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
