Billing Specialist

A respected Walnut Creek law firm is hiring a Billing Specialist to join its finance team. This is a full-time, on-site role for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with numbers and helping a busy firm run smoothly. You'll work closely with attorneys, accounting staff, and clients to make sure billing is accurate, on time, and well organized.

What you'll do:

• Prepare, review, and send client invoices
• Process attorney time entries and make billing adjustments
• Manage pre-bills and work with attorneys on edits
• Submit e-bills through client billing portals and follow outside counsel billing guidelines
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
• Apply payments and reconcile client accounts
• Answer client billing questions professionally and promptly
• Run billing reports and support month-end close

What you bring:

• Billing or accounting experience, ideally at a law firm or professional services firm
• Familiarity with legal billing software such as Aderant, Elite, Clio, or similar (preferred)
• Experience with e-billing portals and LEDES formats (a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Solid Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Clear communication and good customer service
• Ability to manage deadlines and stay organized
