ABOUT THE TEAM 

The Knowledge Management Department is a team dedicated to strengthening organizational learning, improving service delivery, and supporting continuous growth across SEEC. The team develops and implements knowledge management activities, promotes evidence-based practices, and uses data-driven strategies to support systems change and continuous improvement.

The Knowledge Management Department also develops and delivers training and educational initiatives that equip staff with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to provide high-quality services and effectively support SEEC’s mission.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL:  

Medicaid Redetermination Management

• Primary responsible for the smooth operation of SEEC's Medicaid Redetermination Process.
• Monitor redetermination timelines and ensure timely follow-up on cases requiring intervention.
• In coordination with program leaders, contact people and families to verify submission of Medicaid renewal documentation.
• Assist with gathering, reviewing, and organizing required documentation when necessary.
• Verify submission through available sources including CCS confirmations, LTSS records, EDD communications, and supporting documentation.
• To the extent possible, maintain oversight of cases until eligibility renewal is approved and documented.
• Serve as the organizational point person for redetermination escalations when benefits-related issues require advanced intervention.

Benefits Resources and Education

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with CCSs, EDD personnel, DDA representatives, Maryland Medicaid representatives, housing programs, and community partners.
• Regularly communicate updates on eligibility requirements, renewal processes, program changes, and benefit-related notices to people supported and SEEC’s workforce.
• Respond to referrals for jobseekers’ benefits assistance and provide individualized planning based on identified needs.
• Provide group training on benefits to jobseekers and Employment staff
• Coordinate benefits education sessions for families, guardians, and support teams.

Documentation, Tracking, and Reporting

• Document outreach efforts and outcomes, maintaining accurate records within SEEC systems and tracking tools.
• Analyze data and identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation.
• Support the preparation and distribution of reports to leadership regarding outstanding cases and emerging trends.

Process Improvement and Knowledge Management

• Collaborate to develop, update, and maintain benefits-related procedures, tools, templates, and resource materials.
• Assist in the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures and guidance documents.
• Recommend improvements to workflow efficiency, compliance practices, reporting, and communication processes.
• Other duties as assigned by Department Director.

ABOUT YOU 

• Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a related feild from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree or equivalent preferred).
• Proven understanding of Social Security benefits for people with IDD, Medicaid and benefits redetermination processes. Advanced knowledge or experience with SSA, Medicaid, Work and Benefits, Work Incentives and other employment-related subjects is a bonus.
• Experienced trainer or facilitator of educational forums on benefits or related topics.
• Knowledge of learning principles for adults who learn through multiple methods.
