SUMMARY OF POSITION
At Perry Homes, benefits are a core part of how we support our people and their families. As we continue to grow, we need a Benefits Manager who can own the details, lead with intention, and continuously improve how our benefits work for employees.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. You will lead our benefits programs, manage a Benefits Specialist, and take an active role in strengthening our self-funded plans. You'll also serve as the point of contact for employees and leaders, ensuring benefits are clear, competitive, and well managed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Own the strategy, design, and administration of Perry Homes' benefits programs, with a strong focus on improving our self-funded medical plans
- Proactively evaluate plan performance, utilization, costs, and employee feedback to identify opportunities for improvement
- Partner with brokers and vendors to recommend thoughtful, data-driven changes that benefit both employees and the business
- Stay current on benefits trends and bring forward ideas to enhance our offerings
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop the Benefits Specialist, with clear ownership of coaching, growth, and skill development
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, partnering with the Benefits Specialist to resolve issues and build their capability over time
- Ensure both the manager and specialist share the administrative workload while maintaining strong service levels
Benefits Committee Leadership
- Lead the Perry Homes Benefits Committee, including meeting cadence, agendas, and follow-ups
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Talent leadership to align benefits decisions with business priorities
- Present clear recommendations and updates to stakeholders
Employee Experience & Communication
- Ensure benefits communications are clear, timely, and easy to understand
- Lead open enrollment planning and execution end-to-end
- Act as a trusted resource for employees and leaders on benefits-related matters
Operations, Compliance & Organization
- Own day-to-day benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong documentation
- Lead FMLA leave and ADA accommodation processes, ensuring compliance, best practices, and streamlining communication.
- Oversee Workers Compensation compliance and reporting
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Build and maintain organized processes, timelines, and reporting for all benefits work
- Be highly organized and proactive, anticipating needs rather than reacting to issues
Partnership & Visibility
- Work closely with the Head of the Talent Organization to provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations
- Partner with Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, and external vendors to ensure seamless execution
- Escalate risks and opportunities early, with solutions in hand
