Title: Benefits Administrator

Overview
The Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing and supporting employee benefits programs across the United States and Canada. This role serves as a key resource for employees, vendors, payroll, and HR teams, ensuring accurate benefits administration, compliance, employee support, and benefits-related reporting. The position requires a seasoned benefits professional with strong knowledge of health and welfare plans, retirement plans, leave administration, and regulatory requirements.

Job Description
  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, FSA/HSA, COBRA, EAP, wellness programs, and leave of absence benefits.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for employee benefits questions and issues.
  • Maintain accurate employee benefit records and troubleshoot enrollment and eligibility issues.
  • Work closely with HRIS, payroll, finance, vendors, and benefit providers to ensure data integrity.
  • Process benefits-related invoices and coordinate monthly billing activities.
  • Audit payroll deductions and benefit premiums for accuracy.
  • Support annual enrollment activities and benefits communications.
  • Coordinate HIPAA compliance training and documentation.
  • Partner with vendors to support COBRA administration and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with non-discrimination testing, census reporting, and benefits audits.
  • Support retirement plan administration and employee inquiries.
  • Coordinate benefits administration related to employee leaves of absence.
  • Create and maintain benefits communications, SharePoint content, and employee resources.
  • Monitor wellbeing program participation and support employee engagement initiatives.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 5-7 years of dedicated Benefits Administration experience
  • Experience administering health and welfare benefit programs
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, Leave of Absence, FSA, HSA, and retirement plans
  • Experience supporting annual enrollment and benefits compliance activities
  • Workday experience
  • Experience working in a shared services environment
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential employee information
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Professional maturity and ability to work independently
Preferred Skills
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification
  • Canadian benefits administration experience
  • SharePoint administration experience
