Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness

• Investigates complaints regarding set up service and equipment, and takes corrective action

• Obtains list of rooms to be set up and list of rooms needing refresh to prepare work assignments

• Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation

• Performs cleaning duties

• Examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and makes recommendations to management.

• Issues supplies and equipment to workers

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the duties and responsibility of the Banquet Houseman Supervisor position:

Language Ability

• Effectively interact and communicate in English with people from diverse backgrounds

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

• Write simple correspondence

• Communicate in the English language both verbally and in writing

• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other associates of the hotel

Math Ability

• Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

• The position duties are regularly performed indoors where the temperatures are controlled; may seldom perform duties outdoors where the weather conditions may be adverse including rain, cold and heat

Physical Demands

• Frequently lift and/or move 50 to 100 pounds

• Regularly stand and talk or hear

• Frequently walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms

• Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

• Safely navigate multiple flights of stairs

Position Status and Availability

• A full-time, flexible (AM or PM) shift, Monday - Sunday including holidays

Experience and Education Requirements

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• At least one (1) year of customer service experience

At least 1-year previous experience as a Banquet Houseman Supervisor in a luxury hotel
