They are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join as an early engineer, working closely with founders and cross-functional teams to build scalable systems and shape the future of investing. This is a hands-on, highly impactful role in a fast-paced, engineering- and product-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems that power the trading platform and integrate with major U.S. brokerages
Lead development of the pilot portal, enabling seamless user interactions for data input, persistence, and broker integration
Reverse-engineer undocumented APIs and implement distributed systems that scale with company growth
Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, user-centric solutions
Drive impact in a hands-on capacity, directly contributing to a rapidly growing and innovative company
Skills/Requirements
5-7+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer, ideally in a fast-paced startup environment
Proficiency in TypeScript for backend development (open to other languages)
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud infrastructure
Expertise in distributed systems, API integration, and cloud-hosted applications
Proven track record of building and scaling backend systems to support rapid growth
Previous experience as a software engineer for trading, investing, or fintech platforms (nice-to-have)
Previous experience working in a hyper-growth startup (nice-to-have)
Experience with integrations involving platforms like Robinhood, Stripe, Plaid, or similar (nice-to-have)
Familiarity with node.js, GraphQL, Nest.js, GCP, Google Pub/Sub, PostgreSQL, or similar stack (nice-to-have)
