Description

Job title : AWS/Java Developer
Location: Raleigh, NC(Onsite)
Contract : 12 + Months

Note : All work must be completed on site at the client's discretion.

Position Summary

The client is looking to hire an AWS/Java software development experience. This role involves close collaboration with the data modernization teams at ITD and DPH to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that align with their technical requirements and business objectives. Skill Sets and experience include: Experience in modernizing legacy applications, which should include refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment. Proficient in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes.
Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Java - strong Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework & hibernate technology. Analyzing data models and business requirements.
Data Validation: Query the database to verify that data is correctly inserted, updated, and deleted by the application, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Design, Create and Execute Test Cases Back-end Testing: Validating back-end logic and data processing that might not be immediately visible through the user interface Collaboration: Working closely with developers and business analysts to understand data requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Utilize AWS services within application architecture Develop, test, debug and deliver within timeline using best tools and best practices available. Participate in code reviews, ensure security best practices, and maintain clean, efficient code.
Monitor application performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability. Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges. Ensures adherence to standards and best practices Work with product manager, business stakeholders, and other team members to refine requirements and deliver solutions

Required /Desired :

Proficient in using various AWS services (e.g., VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, Athena) to build and manage cloud
Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Java - strong Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework & hibernate technology
Experience in modernizing applications, including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development.
Knowledge of modern database technologies and strategies for migrating and modernizing database systems
Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools
Experience with data analytics, business intelligence solutions (like Power BI or AWS QuickSight )
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
Experience working with creating AWS ETL jobs, data pipelines with high volumes of data
AWS Certification
State Government experience
