    Senior Staff Attorney


    ?We are seeking a Senior Staff Attorney to serve as a key legal advisor to executive leadership and provide legal support across the organization's operations and affiliated entities. This role will lead corporate legal initiatives, oversee outside counsel, negotiate complex contracts, manage litigation matters, and ensure compliance with corporate, employment, tax-exempt, and nonprofit regulations.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Advise executive leadership on legal, governance, compliance, and operational matters.
    • Manage litigation, administrative proceedings, mediations, and outside counsel relationships.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
    • Oversee corporate governance, compliance, employee relations, and legal risk management.
    • Supervise legal department staff and support organizational training and development.


    Qualifications:

    • J.D. degree and active bar admission in CA, TX, AZ, or NM (California preferred).
    • 6+ years of legal experience, ideally in-house, nonprofit, public interest, or litigation environments.
    • Experience with nonprofit/tax-exempt law, corporate governance, employment law, and litigation management preferred.
    • Strong research, writing, negotiation, and leadership skills.


    Open to Experience:

    While senior-level experience is preferred, qualified early-career attorneys and recent bar-admitted graduates with exceptional research and writing skills will also be considered. Title and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
