L&W Recruiting, on behalf of a well‑established Mid‑Atlantic law firm, seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its Litigation Defense and Business Law practice in Philadelphia, PA. This position is suitable for an attorney able to manage a full caseload independently while contributing to a collaborative, growth‑oriented team with a clear path to partnership.

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full docket of insurance defense matters from intake through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other court filings.
• Conduct and defend depositions; handle hearings and other court appearances.
• Develop litigation strategy and participate in case planning and settlement discussions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, co‑counsel, and court personnel.
• Maintain organized case files and meet all calendaring and procedural deadlines.
• Provide mentorship and collaborate with colleagues to support firm objectives and client service.

Required Qualifications

• 2–6+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
• Demonstrated litigation skills, including motion practice, depositions, and courtroom experience.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while working effectively in a team‑focused environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and client‑management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with complex coverage, litigation management, or trial practice within insurance defense.
• Demonstrated interest in professional development and progression toward partnership.
• Familiarity with e‑filing systems and case/document management platforms.
