Our client, a highly regarded and growing Houston-area law firm, is seeking an experienced Corporate/Tax Attorney, ideally with a CPA or LLM designation,to join their practice. This is an excellent leadership opportunity for an attorney who thrives in a client-facing, advisory-driven role and enjoys working on complex corporate planning, tax, and wealth transfer matters for high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses. The ideal candidate will play a significant role in leadership by mentoring attorneys in the practice group and collaborating with other partners in the firm.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in corporate/transactional law, with atax background, and wealth preservation strategies, along with the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented counsel. This role involves advising clients on corporate planning, tax-efficient structuring, and business succession matters.
Key Responsibilities
Counsel high-net-worth individuals and families on asset protection and tax minimization strategies
Assist with business succession planning for closely held and family-owned businesses
Provide guidance on corporate planning, tax implications of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations
Collaborate with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive client solutions
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license and in good standing with the State Bar
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and/or LLM in Taxation preferred
Minimum of 10+ years of corporate experience
Experience working with high-net-worth clients and complex estates
Exceptional drafting, analytical, and communication skills
