Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of legislative, regulatory, and public policy matters.
2. Represent the organization in court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations.
3. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support decision-making and policy development.
4. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
5. Work closely with government officials, lobbyists, and other stakeholders to advance the organization's legislative and regulatory agenda.
6. Develop and implement effective legal strategies to protect the organization's interests and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
7. Provide training and guidance to other team members on legal matters.
8. Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations that may affect the organization and its operations.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the New York State Bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Government Affairs Attorney, Government Relations Attorney, Legislative Affairs Attorney, Public Policy Attorney, Policy Counsel, Regulatory Affairs Attorney, or a similar role.
4. Proven experience in legal research and writing, litigation, and regulatory affairs.
5. Strong knowledge of the legislative process, public policy, and government regulations.
6. Experience in lobbying or working closely with lobbyists and government officials.
7. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
10. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
11. Willingness to keep abreast of new laws and regulations that may affect the organization and its operations.
