Job Summary

This role provides vital administrative and event coordination support to the athletics department, delivering a high level of customer service across all sporting events and tailgating operations. It requires strong time management skills to effectively coordinate complex schedules, including the departmental calendar and the Director of Athletics¿ commitments, while balancing the needs of coaches, staff, and student workers. The position supports ticketing, travel logistics, purchasing, and game-day operations, ensuring smooth and responsive service for internal and external stakeholders. All responsibilities are carried out with careful attention to compliance with university, NCAA, and conference policies, maintaining accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent may be required to perform job-related duties other than those specifically delineated in this description.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate tailgating for all sporting events
  • Manage the departmental calendar/schedule as well as the calendar/schedule of the Director of Athletics
  • Assist coaches and staff with travel and purchasing
  • Supervise departmental work-study students
  • Assist ticket manager with box office operations and sale/distribution of tickets and tailgating spaces for all home and select away athletics events
  • Assist with team travel and special projects
  • Enter items into e-procurement and completes p-card requisitions
  • Must adhere to all university policies, NCAA By-Laws and Conference (SIAC) policies
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in office/clerical work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in a higher education athletics office/clerical role
Proposed Salary

The proposed salary range is $35,000.00 to $40,000.00 annually.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and mathematics.
  • Skilled in the use small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
  • Skilled in using computers for data entry.
  • Skilled in using computers for word processing and/or accounting purposes.
  • Ability to learn university policies and ordinances.
  • Ability to learn department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and an orientation towards customer service.
  • Ability to organize, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Ability to cooperate with fellow employees as a team member.
