Athletic Performance Analyst

Job Description:

The Athletic Performance Analyst will focus primarily on the collection and analysis of pit crew performance during both race and practice area pit stops. The role will be responsible for providing actionable data insights for our NASCAR, IndyCar and Sportscar programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Analytics

• Analyze pit stops during all series races and provide a complete breakdown of the stops.
• Ensure pitstop practice stops are filmed and broken down during all series practices and provide data ready for athletes and coaches to review.
• Gather competitor data including pit times, pit box selection etc.
• Build analytical models to identify trends, strengths and weaknesses in performance.
• Maintain database tracking historical pit stop metrics across all series.

Video Operations

• Ensure film equipment is operational for all team pitstop practices from multiple angles for review.
• Categorize and archive footage for easy retrieval by coaches and crew.
• Synchronize video with data timestamps to create comprehensive review packages.

Reporting & Software

• Generate weekly reports using to visualize performance gaps.
• Create performance reports for coaches, engineers, and pit crews.
• Create process documentation to standardize athletic data collection and analysis protocols.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data visualization).
• Microsoft Office mastery (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Video editing software experience (Adobe Premiere, Dartfish, or specialized sports analysis tools).

Requirements & Experience

• High attention to detail with the ability to capture split-second timing data.
• Strong Athletic and/or Motorsports knowledge, specifically NASCAR, IndyCar and Sportscar pit regulations would be highly valued.
• Willingness to travel to racetracks and work weekends at track or at home.
• Degree in Sports Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
