This position will pay a base salary of $65,000 plus commission.

Summary

The Associate Sales Executive is an entry-level commercial role designed for high-potential recent college graduates participating in Owens & Minor NextGen Sales Program. This program is designed to accelerate the transition from campus to a professional sales career through formal training, field immersion, mentorship, commercial education, and hands-on customer engagement experience. Associates are hired into one of three commercial career tracks: Territory Sales Executive (TSE), Surgical Sales Executive (SSE), or Enterprise Solutions Sales Executive (ESSE) and participate in structured program to accelerate development into high-performing sales professionals.

Participants will build foundational knowledge of healthcare, medical distribution, sales processes, customers engagement, territory management, and consultative selling. The program provides a clear path toward full sales territory ownership and long-term career growth within the commercial organization.

Role Tracks

Territory Sales Executive

• Focuses on distribution sales and medical product sales, territory management, account growth, customer relationship development, and identification of new business opportunities with acute health systems

Surgical Sales Executive

• Focuses on clinical and surgical product categories, operating room engagement, clinician relationships, product conversion initiatives, and surgical solutions selling

Enterprise Solutions Sales Executive

• Focuses on strategic account growth, health system engagement, integrated solutions, data-driven selling, and enterprise-wide value creation initiatives

Core Responsibilities

Customer Relationships

• Support customer meetings, business reviews, and account planning activities in a cohesive and professional manner
• Develop relationships with healthcare decision-makers and key stakeholders
• Learn customer organizational structures, purchasing process, and market dynamics
• Deliver a professional and customer-focused experience across all interactions

Execute Commercial Activities - Sales Development, Territory Planning

• Manage assigned sales activities under the guidance of sales leadership and mentors with proficiency in selling skills, healthcare industry knowledge, and customer engagement skills
• Maintain customer and opportunity information within CRM platforms
• Participate in pipeline reviews, forecasting discussions, and business planning activities
• Support opportunity identification, qualification, and growth initiatives

Develop Business and Strategic Acumen

• Learn and leverage knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, distribution, supply chain, procedural, and GPO dynamics
• Understand and execute on financial drivers impacting customers and Owens & Minor
• Analyze customer opportunities and develop solution-oriented recommendations
• Use data and analytics to support sales execution and decision-making

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, Clinical, and Commercial Operations teams to enable customer success and contribute to solution development
• Support implementation of customer solutions and growth initiatives
• Participating in regional meetings, sales events, and development programs

Qualifying Experience

Required

• Bachelor's Degree within last 0-3 years in business, healthcare, or related field
• Demonstrated leadership through internships, athletics, organizations, military service, or work experience
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Strong business acumen and learning ability
• Ability to travel within assigned geography
• Valid driver's license

Preferred

• Internship or work experience in sales, healthcare, business development, customer service, or account management
• Experience presenting, leading projects, or influencing others
• Familiarity with CRM or business technology platforms
