The Firm is currently seeking an Associate Conflicts Counsel in our Phoenix office.This is a dynamic position that involves knowledge of all aspects of client operations as well as interaction with attorneys and staff across eleven states. You should have a strong knowledge of the ethical rules, must have the ability to analyze complex conflict and ethical issues and have a strong attention to detail. You will have the opportunity to use your strong interpersonal skills while working with partners and executives across the firm.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Review and analyze conflict report results, including gathering facts to clear conflictsMonitor changes, updates and developments to the ethical rules and analyze the impact the changes may have on the firmWork closely with Conflict Counsel, Associate Conflict Counsel, General Counsel, the Executive Committee, the Ethics Committee and Loss Prevention Counsel as necessaryReview waiver letters, joint representation letters and engagement letters to confirm compliance with firm policies and ethical standardsWork closely with all firm staff and attorneys to ensure compliance with firm policies and ethical standardsAssist the recruiting department with conflict issues relating to new attorney and staff hiresReview and provide comments on Outside Counsel Guidelines, requests for proposal, client generated engagement letters and other documents the firm is asked to signWork closely with client intake on the review of new matter submissions for compliance with firm policies and ethical standardsAssist with the preparation of ethical wallsCreate and participate in training sessions for firm attorneys and staff as requiredReview marketing materials to confirm compliance with ethical standardsPerform other duties as assigned by the firm's General Counsel or Conflicts CounselExperience and Qualifications:Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree, requiredAt least three years of experience as a practicing attorneyActive admission and in good standing with the Arizona Bar AssociationStrong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making skills and advisingAbility to work effectively under pressure, to manage sensitive and confidential information, and to meet deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, a high degree of interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detailSnell & Wilmer offers a competitive performance-based compensation and a generous benefits package starting on your first day.
