Job Details
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least one year of civil litigation experience to join our growing litigation practice in Charlotte.
This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants to take an active role in their cases, strengthen their courtroom and advocacy skills, and continue developing as a well-rounded litigator. You will work closely with experienced attorneys and clients while taking on increasing responsibility throughout the litigation process.

What You'll Do
Manage assigned litigation matters with increasing levels of responsibility.
Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues, claims, defenses, and case strategy.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
Manage written discovery and participate in the discovery process.
Prepare for and participate in depositions.
Assist with trial preparation and, as experience develops, participate in hearings, arbitrations, and trial proceedings.
Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and developments.
Work with partners, senior attorneys, clients, experts, opposing counsel, and other professionals to develop facts and advance cases.
Evaluate legal and factual issues and help develop practical litigation strategies.
Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions.
Manage multiple matters and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work product.
Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on excellent client service.
What We're Looking For
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in North Carolina.
1+ year of civil litigation experience.
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
Experience drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, or other litigation documents.
Exposure to depositions, hearings, trial preparation, or other aspects of civil litigation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Sound judgment, professionalism, and a client-focused approach.
Desire to continue developing as a civil litigator and take on increasing responsibility.
Experience in insurance defense, commercial litigation, professional liability, construction litigation, personal injury defense, product liability, premises liability, or a related civil litigation practice is welcome, but candidates with broader civil litigation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
