Job Description
Position Summary
Assoc General Counsel proactively supports the company's financing and refinancing activities. The company law department provides to its varied client base a broad range of legal expertise, experience and practical knowledge in all facets of business. The law department's focus on partnering with its clients, strong commitment to quality legal representation and collegial team atmosphere make this an outstanding place to practice sophisticated commercial real estate law.
Responsibilities
Proven ability to independently structure, draft, negotiate, manage and close sophisticated real estate finance transactions
Manage and close sophisticated sales, acquisition, loan and leasing commercial real estate transactions. These transactions shall include but are not limited to:
Acquisitions of property for new projects and expansions
Municipal financings, including TIPs, tax abatement agreements and grants
Department store REAs purchase and sales agreements, leases and supplemental agreements
Ground and big box leases
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required
J.D. from a leading law school with proven academic success
5 years of relevant commercial real estate and lending experience with a law firm or corporation (retail experience a plus)
Outstanding client management skills with an ability to inspire confidence and trust with a variety of clients
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interface with people at all levels by virtue of professional competence, personal integrity and personal style
Flexibility and strong analytical ability
Proven success in managing multiple tasks and priorities
Dedication and commitment to practicing law in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
1 - 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
