Client Overview:

Our client is a well-known apparel and lifestyle brand seeking a freelance Assistant Site Merchant to support their digital commerce team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you will help bring product assortments to life online and support key site launches, merchandising strategies, and digital business initiatives.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr - $30/hr

Position Overview:

The Assistant Site Merchant will support the execution of online product launches, site updates, and reporting initiatives to help drive customer engagement, conversion, and overall business performance. This role will focus on digital merchandising execution, site accuracy, business analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure a seamless and compelling online shopping experience. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about e-commerce and digital merchandising.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Site Merchant:

• Support the digital merchandising of assigned product categories, including product setup, category maintenance, and navigation updates.
• Audit product detail pages, category pages, and other site content to ensure accuracy in imagery, copy, and creative assets.
• Manage linking execution and maintain link libraries across key traffic-driving channels such as email and site content.
• Assist with quality assurance of site updates and support content pushes, including off-hours when needed.
• Pull, organize, and analyze daily and weekly site performance metrics across categories.
• Monitor product and site KPIs and help identify opportunities to improve performance and customer experience.
• Support competitive analysis, share market insights, and best practices.
• Collaborate with creative, site operations, marketing, merchandising, and business teams to support seasonal launches, site refreshes, and key digital initiatives.
• Partner with SEO and marketing teams to help optimize search visibility, product copy, and discoverability across the site.

Required Experience/Skills for the Assistant Site Merchant:

• 0 - 3 years of experience in digital merchandising, ecommerce, or omni-channel merchandising.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and turn insights into action.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing business needs.
• Comfortable supporting time-sensitive site updates and business-critical launches.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Assistant Site Merchant:

• Experience with e-commerce tools and reporting platforms such as PIM, Browse, GA4, or Tableau.
• Prior experience supporting online merchandising, site operations, or digital product launches.
• Understanding of customer experience, site navigation, and digital shopping behavior.
• Experience in retail, fashion, or consumer products is a plus.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree is required.
