    Job Title: Assistant Regional Distribution Manager

    Reports to: Regional Distribution Manager

     

    Summary/Objective

    The Assistant Distribution Manager is responsible for assisting the Senior Regional Distribution Manager objectives in managing the distribution center activities. The ARDM should be able to perform and assume full responsibilities of the facility in the SRDM’s absence. These activities include but may not be limited to hiring, directing staff, receiving product, stocking product, replenishing product, inventory control, order picking, packing and shipping orders. 

     

    The ARDM will assist the SRDM in maintaining company safety, quality, delivery, and inventory objectives. The ARDM will work overtime as needed to fulfill shipping commitments. The ARDM will perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned. The ARDM will coordinate time off so that SRDM and ARDM are not off at the same time for a significant period.

     

    Daily Operations

    • Monitor the WMS Order Work center, allocate orders, fulfill replenishment as necessary, dispatch orders, build order carts, disperse orders
    • Communicate with SRDM on any exceptions or discrepancies on daily orders or receipts
    • Assist SRDM in monitoring employees to ensure they have assigned work and are on task by walking the warehouse and visually monitoring the picking, receiving, and replenishment progress and tasks
    • Assist SRDM in gathering information on exceptions to perform Root Cause Analysis
    • Reinforce and monitor accuracy in the shipping and receiving of goods by ensuring employees understand the task at hand
    • Assist employees on warehouse processes as needed
    • Monitor and report any employee performance issues to the SRDM
    • Ensure all company safety rules and regulations are followed, apply safe work practices in all job tasks and report exceptions to SRDM
    • Assists SRDM to ensure proper flow of shipping and receiving that includes monitoring the receiving dock, product put away, product replenishment, order picking, and shipping line
    • Reports any deviations to the SRDM immediately
    • Any other duties as assigned

     

    Delivery Management

    • Assists SRDM with employee training as necessary to make sure employees understand their role
    • Can regularly and competently perform all necessary tasks in the WMS
    • Understands and can perform all warehouse tasks
    • Evaluates current business practices and offers suggestions to increase productivity


    Personnel Supervision

    • Oversees the department where the SRDM is unavailable
    • Support SRDM in planning, staffing, and coordinating activities to maintain efficient storage and flow of materials while maintaining control of inventory
    • Look for opportunities to highlight Life-Assist Core Values and place emphasis on creating a cultural connection across the business
    • Reports any personnel issues to SRDM immediately

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Self-starter, confident in his/her abilities, self-motivated and able to work effectively with limited supervision
    • Ability to clearly communicate with others
    • Working knowledge of warehouse/mechanical equipment, Performance Management, and warehouse management systems
    • Detail oriented and follows through on assigned tasks and projects
    • Experience with MS Office, MS Excel
    • A can-do attitude with excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills


    Education, Licenses & Experience

    • AS/AA and/or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • 2+ years pharmaceutical related experience
    • Possess or able to obtain a Florida DR immediately upon hire a plus  
    • Forklift certified
    • A minimum of 3 years Supervisory and Management experience of personnel and KPIs

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
