Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As the Assistant Educational Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting and administering UCLA Health Sciences' Clinical Research and Educational Volunteer Program, serving a community of more than 700 volunteers and participants engaged in specialized programs. This position is responsible for coordinating volunteer and student onboarding, compliance tracking, training, and program administration to ensure participants meet institutional requirements and are appropriately placed within the UCLA Health Sciences campus.

You will also work closely with faculty, staff, students, and volunteers to provide guidance on program policies, maintain accurate records, review service assignments, and support ongoing compliance and educational requirements. The role also contributes to the development and improvement of program materials, coordinates orientations and recognition events, and serves as a resource for faculty mentors and volunteers.

You will work as a team player, collaboratively with the Volunteer Services Team and campus partners, to ensure program operations align with institutional policies while supporting a positive and meaningful volunteer experience.

This position is ideal for individuals who are highly organized, detail-oriented, enjoy working with diverse populations, and are passionate about supporting educational, research, and volunteer engagement opportunities within an academic health system.

Hourly Salary Range: $31.88 - $45.66

Required:

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 years minimum of Business operations and/or administration experience
• Ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Proficient knowledge of common computer application programs (MSOffice Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Solid and proven analytical / problem solving skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with University-wide and campus-wide Administrators, Deans, Department Chair, faculty and staff both orally and written

Preferred:

• Knowledge of academic and/or administrative structure of institutions of higher education
