The Goddard School® located in Doylestown on Farm Lane is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Infant Teacher. At our School, we put our teachers first because they put our students first. You'll support the Lead Infant Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for our youngest learners, infants from 6 weeks to 12 months. Assistant Infant Teacher Key Responsibilities


  • Assist the Lead Infant Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate activities aligned with The Goddard School curriculum for infants and young toddlers
  • Support each infant's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through nurturing, responsive caregiving
  • Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean and stimulating infant environment that meets all health and licensing standards
  • Properly lift and handle infants, including safely transferring infants into and out of cribs
  • Supervise and provide individualized care and attention to infants in your room
  • Assist in communicating with parents daily regarding their child's feeding, sleeping, milestones and activities
  • Support routine infant caregiving tasks including feeding, diapering and nap routines to promote a nurturing learning environment
  • Adhere to all health, safety and licensing guidelines specific to infant care

Qualifications


  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Previous experience working with infants or young children in a licensed childcare setting preferred
  • Deep empathy, patience and genuine compassion for infants and their families
  • Works productively without supervision and collaborates effectively with classroom team members
  • Basic understanding of infant development and responsive caregiving practices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children, including properly lifting infants into and out of a crib
