Description

Gpac is partnered with a commercial greenhouse operation seeking an Assistant Grower to support [crop program] and work alongside the growing team.

This position suits someone who enjoys working directly with plants, notices changes early, and wants to develop stronger commercial growing skills.

This hands-on role manages crops from establishment through market readiness, with responsibility for irrigation, fertility, environmental controls, and plant health within an assigned growing area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily growing decisions, including irrigation, fertility, and cultural practices.
  • Monitor EC, pH, moisture, root development, and crop uniformity; identify and address changes in crop performance.
  • Adjust greenhouse environmental controls to support crop quality and production schedules.
  • Scout for pests and diseases and coordinate integrated pest management activities with the growing team.
  • Coordinate transplanting, spacing, pruning, and other crop work with production crews.
  • Maintain accurate records of crop progress, treatments, and production losses.

Qualifications

  • Commercial greenhouse growing experience with independent responsibility for crops or a production section.
  • Working knowledge of irrigation, fertigation, plant nutrition, and integrated pest management.
  • Experience growing [relevant crops] in a commercial production environment.
  • Familiarity with greenhouse environmental control systems such as Argus, Priva, or Wadsworth.
  • Ability to recognize crop-health concerns, troubleshoot growing issues, and communicate priorities clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate timely crop work with production teams.
