The Companys commitment to the IIF culture promotes a work environment where employee safety is paramount.Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist with a wide range of projects and activities and internal legal functions with a focus on contracting and commercial supportProvide support on domestic and international project contracts prior to tender participating with other attorneys and contract manager to provide advice and analysis to the dredging and offshore energy business unitsAnalyze legal issues relating to federal state and local government contracts as well as private contractsProvide regulatory compliance supportBe familiar with and advise regarding Federal Acquisition Regulation clauses as they relate to federal contracts and business operationsAssist with tender and prequalification documentsSupport drafting and negotiation of complex project and finance documentationDraft and negotiate contracts for services equipment and supplies leases and other commercial agreements in support of dredging and business operationsIdentify and analyze potential legal claims and work with business stakeholders to provide risk assessments and to reduce litigation exposureManage commercial disputes with subcontractors vendors and suppliersPerform general contract administration duties.Limited travel may be required.Required QualificationsBachelors degree 4 year from an accredited four-year college or universityJ.D. from an ABA accredited law school and Texas Bar admission3 to 5 years of law firm or in-house legal experience preferably in a maritime construction or asset-intensive businessProven operator in a fast-paced team environment and able to act as a lead as requiredAbility to effectively manage multiple prioritiesStrong analytical and negotiation skillsHighest ethical standards and behaviorHighly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and interact effectively with cross-functional teams and business colleagues at all levels of the companyExcellent business judgment superior leadership skills and delivery-oriented attitude.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Jones Actgeneral maritime lawmaritime commercial contracts.BenefitsCompetitive salary and bonus program.401k program that includes 100 company matching of the first 6 of employee contributions with immediate vesting.Annual profit-sharing contributions by the company to participants 401k accounts based on companys annual performance.Medical Dental Prescription Vision Life and Disability insurance plans.
