    This position supervises the day-to-day school kitchen operations and personnel to provide an inclusive and innovative student school nutrition program. This position collaborates with multiple stakeholders on district initiatives and community organizations to maintain and enhance our school nutrition program.

    Essential Functions:

    • Leads hiring and employee placement within school kitchens.
    • Supervises on-site food service personnel and employee evaluations.
    • Supervises day-to-day operations within school kitchens.
    • Develop and/or assist in the development of marketing materials for public information and instructional materials and training for school food service personnel.
    • Attend and co-facilitate required meetings and trainings.
    • Work closely with community groups and district initiatives.
    • Assists with school food service promotion opportunities.
    • Assist with coordinating catering activities and assist with jobs as needed.
    • Assist in developing procedures for proper receipt, storage, and distribution of food and supplies.
    • Instruct food service personnel in the proper use and care of equipment and supplies.
    • Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety in accordance with local and State health regulations.
    • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff data.
    • Reports to Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor.

    • Assist in developing purchase specifications for food, supplies, and equipment.
    • Assist in establishing standards for quality food preparation and service.
    • Assist in establishing and maintaining records necessary for proper control of food equipment and supplies.
    • Cooperate with the facilities staff for the proper care and maintenance of equipment and proper cleaning of food service areas.
    • Establish good rapport with the students, teaching staff, school administration, civic groups, and the general public.
    • Assist with collecting & maintaining menu nutrient data
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a two-year Associate Degree in Food Service Administration: Dietetic Technician, Certified Dietary Management, Home Economics, or related field from an approved college or university.
    • Experience in institutional food service and nutrition
    • Sanitation Certification preferred or achieved within 6 months of beginning employment
    • Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a dependable vehicle.
    • Knowledge of business software applications.
    • Bilingual skills - Spanish/English preferred.
