    Description

    Manages the day to day operations of the Law School scholarship programs. Ensures quality customer service in managing the scholarships program for current and prospective students, works with faculty to determine scholarship objectives and recipients, ensures private scholarships are administered in a manner consistent with applicable guidelines, and serves as the law school''s full time and primary liaison with the university Financial Aid staff.

    Manage the Law School scholarship programs, including over $2 million in private scholarships. Responsible for estimating scholarship needs for each fiscal year, working directly with the law school''s Director of Business Affairs and university Financial Aid staff to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ensure that the private scholarship program is meeting all quality performance standards consistent with the applicable MOA/LOA. Work directly with the Associate Dean and the Director of Business Affairs to provide timely and accurate scholarship reports.

    Ensure compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines. Liaison to university Financial Aid staff to analyze, develop, test and implement best practices for processing efficient and accurate scholarship awards.

    Provide student-specific counseling and identifies potential private scholarship sources to assist students with the completion of their studies. This includes the promotion of private scholarships to students and notification to key staff of new private scholarships and criteria. Work with University Development staff regarding reports and feedback to donors who invest in private scholarships. Other duties include review of private scholarship applications, distribution of applications to appropriate decision authorities and follow up to process awards. Responsible for individual private scholarship fund reconciliation and quality assurance reviews to insure that the private scholarship program is meeting all quality performance standards.

    Work with Assistant Dean of Admissions to develop strategic scholarship programs that will include marketing assessment, selection (as directed by funding source), and facilitation of award processing. Other duties include assistance the overall coordination and delegation of program-related activities, i.e., staff training, staff supervision, performance goals and objectives, solution of problems, program reports, workshop preparation, etc.

    Oversee the communications plan for internal and external customers and coordinating with the financial aid staff responsible for web site communications making sure the Law School programs are appropriately represented and communicated to prospective and current students. Organize or participate in all major events related to scholarships including orientation, open houses, student activities, scholarship convocation, etc.

    Collaborate with financial aid to verify determine eligibility/maintain eligibility in the Dean''s Scholar program. Track, reconcile and report on Dean''s Scholar program awards.

    Attend meetings on behalf of the Dean, Associate Dean, Director of Business Affairs and others. Assist in strategic enrollment management meetings, consultations and scholarship leveraging meetings. Serve on committees as appointed by the Dean, Assistant Dean or Director of Business Affairs.

    Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality and secure data practices to include student and other information covered by FERPA guidelines, student financial aid records, student and family personal financial records and other non-public and sensitive college records, non-public personnel records and issues.

    Must be willing to work weekends and after hours to support needs of the students and administration.

    Perform other related duties as assigned.
