    Job Title: Assistant Childcare Director ( salary) Employment Type: Full-Time

    Job Summary

    The Assistant Childcare Director supports the Childcare Director in managing the daily operations of the childcare center. This role helps ensure a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children while assisting with staff supervision, parent communication, licensing compliance, and administrative duties.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the Childcare Director with the daily management of the childcare center.
    • Supervise and support teachers and childcare staff.
    • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
    • Help develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities.
    • Maintain accurate records for children, staff, attendance, and licensing requirements.
    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and center policies.
    • Assist with staff scheduling, training, on boarding, and performance evaluations.
    • Monitor classrooms to ensure high-quality care and curriculum implementation.
    • Help manage enrollment, registration, and tours for prospective families.
    • Respond to emergencies and resolve concerns involving children, staff, or parents.
    • Assist with budgeting, purchasing supplies, and maintaining inventory.
    • Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
    • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations.
    • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
    • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
    • Background check and child abuse clearance as required by state law.
