We are representing a nationally established inpatient rehabilitation organization seeking a Facilities Management Director for its Toms River, New Jersey hospital.

This leadership role is responsible for the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of hospital facilities and building systems. The Director will oversee maintenance programs, environment-of-care and safety activities, regulatory compliance, facility equipment, and day-to-day plant operations across the hospital and related sites.

Job Details

The Facilities Management Director will lead hospital facilities and plant operations, ensuring that building systems, maintenance programs, safety processes, and regulatory requirements support a safe and reliable patient-care environment.

  • Ensure the hospital, satellite clinics, and related building systems meet Joint Commission and applicable local, state, and federal requirements
  • Lead environment-of-care and safety meetings and potentially serve as the hospital's safety officer
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs
  • Maintain facility equipment and systems in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer recommendations
  • Provide leadership for building systems including chillers, steam boilers, hydraulic systems, building controls, electrical systems, and air handlers
  • Monitor compliance with TJC, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Supervise facilities staff and support effective operation of healthcare facility equipment and systems
  • Promote a safe, compliant, and well-maintained hospital environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or at least five years of hospital maintenance or healthcare construction experience
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience involving healthcare facility equipment and systems operations
  • Experience with chiller systems, steam boilers, hydraulic systems, building controls, electrical systems, and air handlers
  • Broad knowledge of TJC, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager credential preferred
  • Membership in a state or national healthcare engineering association preferred
