Title: Assistant Chef Location: Upper East Side Org Unit: Griffis Faculty Club Work Days: Weekdays and some weekends Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $22.69 - $25.33 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices

Position Summary: Under direct supervision, assists in preparing all necessary foods required for lunch, dinner and banquet service.

Job Responsibilities: • Ensures the proper set up and maintenance of prep area stations assigned to. • Labels, rotates and stores food products prepared. • Troubleshoots customer service or food preparation issues and escalates as needed. • Ensures that facilities and equipment are in optimal and proper working condition. • Coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs as needed. • May perform minor repairs if qualified and as needed. • May advise on upgrades for performance enhancements.

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: Approximately 2 years of related experience, including work in a hot line position

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work within an organization emphasizing teamwork, respect, and excellence.

Licenses and Certifications: Food Protection Certificate, issued by the Department of Health

Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Standard industrial kitchen environment; This position requires full mobility and the ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds
