Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Area HR Manager will serve as a strategic business partner to store management; ensuring compliance with policies, providing guidance and counsel, and handling various aspects of HR administration. The Area HR Manager is expected to collaborate with local leaders to address HR needs and contribute to organizational effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities:

Partner with the Director of Human Resources to ensure maximum performance of all HR Metrics and to create action plans to positively impact top and bottom line business initiatives

Cultivating the professional growth and development of the HR coordinators and HR managers. Monitoring their progress through regular performance reviews.

Focus on talent assessment and learning programs leading to high growth opportunities for store associates

Work with Store Management and Area Management teams to ensure that the external direct recruiting effort, the hiring process and the identification and promotion of internal management candidates is executed and maintained to company standard

Track internal/external placement and promotions monthly

Partner with Store Leadership team in developing a succession plan at all levels. Focus on talent assessment and learning programs leading to high growth opportunities for store associates

Partner with Store Management, Area Manager and Loss Prevention on all Human Resource issues

Provide guidance to leadership and non-management personnel in resolving work related problems; ensuring a balance between employee needs and organizational goals

Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures and local, state, and federal requirements

Serve as a strategic adviser to our operational management team to understand business needs and proactively identifying gaps in communication or process and procedure

Interpret policies and procedures, and provides counsel and guidance to Supervisors, Store Managers and Associates on workplace issues

Lead corporate initiatives focused on the associate experience, turnover solutions, and training needs

Train managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment

Participate in the management of various aspects of HR administration including payroll, benefits, records retention, EEO/AA compliance, compensation, and employee relations.

Manage employee relations, addressing concerns and conflicts in the workplace. This includes but may not be limited to handling employee grievances, investigations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.

Support the implementation of health and safety protocols in the workplace.

Willingness to travel visiting various stores within the region.

Other related duties to be assigned by direct supervisor

Frequent in-person collaboration

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required

4+ years of multi-unit HR experience in a complex market (ie. multi-state market, high volume employee relations issues)

High volume, multi-location, retail environment experience required

Expertise in the opening of new markets as it relates to staffing, government regulations and HR-related store operations

General knowledge of federal and state employment laws and practices

Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality

Proficiency in full cycle recruiting including experience with applicant tracking systems

Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills

Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

Salary: $95,000 - $106,000*

*The offered salary or salary range is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and location of the position.
