    Position Description

    POSITION TITLE: ARD Facilitator

    FLSA: Exempt Professional

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 2 years of special ed teaching experience
    • Valid Texas teaching certificate from accredited college or university
    • Special Education endorsement
    • Knowledge of ARD procedures
    • Experience as a special education classroom teacher preferred

    REPORTS TO:

    Director of Special Education

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Teacher calendar days and benefits provided according to Board policy

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Meet timeline requirements for anual ARD meetings.
    • Meet compliance requirements for documentation of required IEP elements.
    • Ensure all required notices and consents are sent within timelines and tracked through a documented system.
    • Assess effectiveness of ARD structure.
    • Coordinate schedules with lead teachers, principals, parents and others as appropriate.
    • Maintain positive and effective relationships with supervisor, principals and teachers.
    • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule and local board policy.
    • Participate in staff development activities to improve skills related to job assignment.
    • Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned.
