ARCHITECTURAL INTERIOR DESIGNER
CORBeL Architects is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Interior Designer to join our professional, agile, and collaborative team. We specialize in Commercial, Hospitality, and residential projects, including mixed-use and multi-family developments. We are looking for an individual who shares our creative vision.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a profound passion for architecture and interior design, possessing extensive technical knowledge in creating Construction Documents (CD). This role requires contributing to all project phases from concept through completion, utilizing strong design skills and technical knowledge.
The candidate will collaborate closely with the Principal, Design Director, Project Architects, Project Managers, and the design team to produce interior CD and bid sets of various scales and technical complexities. The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator, a collaborative problem solver with exceptional attention to detail.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or higher degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Interior Architecture
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in creating Construction Documents (CD) utilizing REVIT
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in FF&E design, coupled with a strong knowledge of interior materials, color theory, graphic composition, specifications, and procurement processes
- Strong understanding of space planning, construction drawings, furniture, millwork, and cabinetry constructions
- Highly proficient in REVIT and BIM360
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), and other 3D modeling software
- Proficient with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Google Workspace
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong understanding of ADA standards, building codes, and regulations
- Ability to review and process submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction phases.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Reliable transportation for site visits and meetings
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Assist in leading projects from concept to completion
- Prepare Interior Design Construction Documents (ID CD) and Bid Set for various projects, including hotels, multifamily, mixed-use developments, and commercial properties
- Prepare ID CD plans that include reflected ceiling plans, enlarged elevations, details sheets (wall, floor, ceiling, etc.), millwork details, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) related interior details, etc.
- Prepare specification sets using InDesign
- Select FF&E and create presentation boards, material boards, and finish schedules
- Work with the project teams on creating client presentations, materials, and finish schedules, and design documentation
- Assist in selecting FF&E that aligns with the project design direction and client preferences
- Engaged role within the office environment, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
- Examine and validate drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Maintain relationships with vendors to request quotes, ensure all details and documents are updated for fabrication, and manage schedules
- Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
- Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
