Position Summary:
Apprentice Engineers are engineers in training and assist the engineers on duty. This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement with Local 68 (I.U.O.E).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Re-lamp all interior and exterior light fixtures for NJPAC, Site Office, Military Parking Garage and Lucent Center.
- Assist the engineer on duty.
- Keep mechanical spaces clean and organized.
- Maintain boiler and cooling tower chemical treatment systems.
- Report any problems to the engineer on duty.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Special Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Entry Level position.
- Must attend Local 68 four-year training program as condition of employment.
- Able to lift and carry heavy objects from 50 to 100 pounds. Must have knowledge of the safest methods to be used in performing heavy manual labor.
- Required to be or become a member of Local 68 of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
