Qualified candidate must possess a minimum requirement of 30 (thirty) hours of college credit or a successful Paraprofessional Assessment. Starting salary $24.10/hour.Qualifications: 1. The minimum educational requirement for this position will be 30 (thirty) hours of college credit or successful completion of the Para-Pro examination (1755) 2. Person must be of good moral character: 3. Knowledge of and the ability to assist with students physically and behaviorally throughout designated times within the school day. The responsibilities include the following: I. Relationship to the Supervisor of Student Services: A. The Special Education Aide will be supervised and formally evaluated yearly by the Supervisor of Student Services in accordance to N.J.A.C. 6:28-4.1(f). B. Participate in periodic meetings as convened by or asked to attend by the Supervisor of Student Services. II. Relationship to the Teacher of the Handicapped/ Teacher of Students with Disabilities: Assist in preparing instructional materials for targeted instruction as set forth by the teacher Monitor student behavior during non-instructional periodsAssist with supervision during meals and snacksProvide specific personal care for students (e.g., toileting/self-care, feeding, repositioning, sensory diet).Work in conjunction with the classroom teacher and BCBA to observe, record, and chart students' behavioral responses (i.e. data collection)Model good effort, communication, and behavior.Implement behavioral plansAssist with the use of assistive technologyAssist with individualized class instructionImplement and reinforce teacher-developed instructionAssist students with disabilities become more interdependent with peersContribute ideas and suggestions in regard to positive behavior support, accommodations and modificationsParticipate in team meetings III. Relationship to Students With Special Needs: A. Assist students with special needs with instructional tasks as deemed appropriate by the classroom teacher. B. Supervise students with special needs during non-instructional periods. Evaluation: The performance of duties shall be evaluated by the Supervisor of Student Services.
