Minimum requirements for Magnet Resource Teachers includeA highly qualified classroom teacher for at least 5 years with proven ability in pathway courses and subjects.
Experience with curriculum development in the magnet theme of their school career pathways as demonstrated by previously written curriculum materials.
Experience in desegregation-related programs and magnet schools.
Able to handle staff training responsibilities.
Have college courses in curriculum development and courses related to their schools career academy magnet theme.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThese master teachers will support all of the school-based activities that are described in this proposal. They will assist in and support the professional development of classroom teachers in the magnet theme areas through extensive coaching. They will assist in the development and implementation with teachers of the career academy magnet themecurricula and generally the development and implementation of career academies career pathways magnet units and joint projects between core academic and career academy magnet theme teachers. They will facilitate collaborative teacher planning teach model lessons and help in the development and implementation of recruitment plans and activities.
