    Reports to the Principal

    Director of Operations Responsibilities

    Stamford Big Picture Learning Academy Charter School is seeking to fill its director of operations position. The director of operations will manage and automate all school systems.

    Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Supervise and coach all operations team members and non-instructional staff
    • Manage School Information Systems
    • Manage the Lottery Management System
    • Manage the school lunch program and is responsible for the free and reduced lunch eligibility program
    • Plan school trips and coordinate events
    • Manage the bussing program, schedules and transportation requirements for eligible scholars and handle incidents
    • Plan and execute annual school year opening plan for the building including classroom assignments, furniture moves or orders, key distribution/collection and maintain a punch list for facility and supplies
    • Manage relations with the school nurse, health and compliance screenings
    • Manage relationships with external vendors
    • Understand the financial obligations of the school and work with the principal to provide financial assistance
    • Build impactful relationships with staff, students and families
    • Maintain an accurate inventory and implement systems related to inventory management
    • Conduct annual and semi-annual performance evaluations
    • Compile data for reporting
    • Set operational priorities
    • Ensure smooth and effective day-to day school operations

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree or higher with a concentration in business, project management or another relevant field.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in management or leadership of the operations, finance and/or administration of a school or other nonprofit organization
    • Previous charter school experience preferred
    • Technologically savvy
    • Experience with and commitment to improving the quality of urban education, specifically for students who have been underserved
    • All employees of the school must be fingerprinted and cleared to work prior to the start date
    • Commitment to continuous learning and ability to accept feedback and work as a team

    Director of Operations salaries in Stamford, Connecticut generally range from $50,000-$90,000; the salary will be commensurate with experience, degree and certification status, and other factors. SBPLA offers a generous benefits package.
