Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Agile Data Product Owner to join the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Data Analytics & Insights organization. This role will support the Data Product Management team and serve as the business authority for a defined data product area, driving the delivery of trusted, governed, and business-aligned data capabilities.
You will work at the intersection of business strategy, data management, technology, governance, and Agile delivery, ensuring enterprise data products deliver measurable business value while meeting regulatory, risk, and control requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Product Owner who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, managing product backlogs, translating business needs into actionable requirements, and helping organizations modernize data and analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Own and prioritize a product backlog aligned to strategic business objectives and stakeholder needs.
Partner with Product Managers to translate product strategy and roadmap objectives into executable delivery work.
Define and refine features, user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria.
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, delivery teams, technology partners, data governance teams, and control organizations.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, daily standups, and Product Owner synchronization activities.
Review completed work and approve delivery based on established acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
Coordinate dependencies across teams, products, platforms, and stakeholders.
Support Program Increment (PI) Planning activities, including feature sequencing, dependency management, and objective development.
Collaborate with Data Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology partners to ensure alignment with enterprise policies and controls.
Define and monitor data product success metrics, business value realization, adoption measures, and data quality outcomes.
Promote transparency through effective backlog management, prioritization, and stakeholder communication.
Support prioritization of technical debt, platform modernization initiatives, control enhancements, and data quality remediation efforts.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Agile Delivery, Business Analysis, Data Management, or related disciplines.
Experience managing Agile backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery prioritization.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
Experience working with Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile delivery tools.
Ability to translate business requirements into actionable features, stories, and prioritized backlog items.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including business, technology, analytics, operations, and governance stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across a matrixed organization.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
Experience serving as an Agile Product Owner, Data Product Owner, Product Lead, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting Agile teams.
