SCSD2 is seeking an organized, efficient, task-driven, and enthusiastic After School Program Site Coordinator. This position will work 15 hours a week.

STARTING WAGE: $18.56-$21.56, depending on experience ($1.00 increase for BA/BS)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be well organized, personable, and able to work well with a large variety of staff members.
  • Possess the ability to promote public relations about district after-school programs, needs, and successes.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the use of computer hardware and software application programs and the ability to adapt such to a given application.
  • Possess proper grammar and English usage skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High School Diploma Required

REPORTS TO: District After School Program Coordinator

JOB GOALS: To organize and coordinate an after-school program at an elementary school. Perform tasks related to organizing staff for activities that promote student wellbeing and foster learning through strong social-emotional development in a fun and safe environment

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Organize and plan an after-school program located at one of the SCSD2 schools.

  2. Prepare requested information regarding your after-school program in a timely and accurate manner.

  3. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with school staff, community leaders, and cooperating to resolve problems in a professional manner.

  4. Plan and prepare functions or projects as requested for the benefit of improving your program.

  5. Manage after-school program staffing and program format.

  6. Stay up to date on best practices, attend professional development events, and maintain connection to after school organizations.

  7. Develop and maintain partnerships with key community organizations.

  8. Provide support, guidance, and leadership for site program staff and students through regular communication and participation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Upper body strength to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for more than 50 feet throughout the workday.

  • Interact physically with students in a variety of ways.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment relationship with the District is at will and of indefinite duration; twelve months with vacations as per District Policy. Eight hours per day; salary and fringe benefits to be set by the Board of Trustees.

Days/year: 176

Hours/day: 3 (15 hours a week)

Insurance Eligibility: Eligible for insurance when working 6 hours a day or 30 hours a week

Placement on any of the Classified (Hourly) Wage Schedules for all new employees will be based solely on an individual's years of job-related experience:

School district experience (full time) = One (1) year of job-related experience equals one (1) step on the wage schedule, up to step seven (7)

School district experience (substitute) & non-school district experience = three (3) years of job-related experience equals one (1) step on the wage schedule, up to step seven (7)

  • Placement beyond step seven (7) requires approval from the Superintendent

Upon board approval, eligible staff move one (1) step on the wage schedule annually, except in those years when the Board of Trustees sets a wage freeze due to budget constraints.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
